The Hampton Legion Cavalry Battalion was reorganized in May
1862, by
combining the original four troops with three troops from Easley's
Battalion
of Cavalry (AKA 4th SC Battalion of Cavalry) and two independant
companies,
to form the 2nd SC Regiment of Cavalry which would serve through the
end
of the war.

These rosters represents 190 officers and NCOs, and 1,034 men who
served in the 2d SC Cavalry -- by April 1865 the Regiment surrendered
