Rosters of 2d SC Regiment of Cavalry by Company - from the book "South Carolina Confederate Soldiers, 1861 - 1865"

The Hampton Legion Cavalry Battalion was reorganized in May 1862, by combining the original four troops with three troops from Easley's Battalion of Cavalry (AKA 4th SC Battalion of Cavalry) and two independant companies, to form the 2nd SC Regiment of Cavalry which would serve through the end of the war.

C Co. - CPT John Meighan, Richland District, Congaree Mounted Riflemen, formerly Co. B - Easley's Battalion
D Co. - CPT John C. McKewn, Charleston District, formerly Co. D - Easley's Battalion
E Co. - CPT Alvin H. Dean, Spartanburg District, formerly Co. C - Easley's Battalion
F Co. - CPT John Westfield, Pickens District, formerly Co. A - Easley's Battalion
G Co. - CPT J. Winster Gary, Edgefield District, Bonham Light Dragoons
H Co. - CPT James P. McFie, Richland District, Congaree Troop, formerly Co. D - Hampton Legion Cavalry Battalion
I Co. -  CPT Tillman H. Clark, Edgefield District, Edgefield Hussars, formerly Co. A - Hampton Legion Cavalry Battalion
K Co. - CPT Leonard Williams, Greenville District, Brooks Troop, formerly Co. B - Hampton Legion Cavalry Battalion

These rosters represents 190 officers and NCOs, and 1,034 men who served in the 2d SC Cavalry -- by April 1865 the Regiment surrendered 14 officers and 225 men, worn by constant but vigilant service to their state.
