Joseph Pizzimenti was a unique talent at Croft. He served as a soldier,
a musician (playing bass in the jazz band and tuba in marching band), a
company bugler, and an artist at woodcarving and painting. He was granted
a permit to carry a camera on base which he used to capture his experiences
in hundreds of photographs. The image above is a self-portrait of Joe with
his Speedgraphic camera. Our thanks to his son, Joe, for sharing these
important images with us.
