"Prudence and Exertion Shall Be my guides" -Banastre Tarleton May, 5 1781 Dispatch a patrol to
reconoiter the outposts of General Lafayette's Division. Map their
outposts to the best of your ability and probe any holes in their lines
to gauge their intentions after their late retreat north of Richmond.
Reports confirm that Wayne's Pennsylvanians have crossed the
Rappahonock, be on the alert for any signs that they have reached
Lafayette. As the army is refitting take only the best equiped
volunteers from the divers corps of the army.
Infantry should be prepared to march, both in equipment and in physical condition. Soldiers should carry 2 days rations and 40 rounds, and the minimum of personal effects for comfort. Dragoons should also be prepared to march with10 rounds for pistol and 30 rounds for carbines where applicable and 2 days rations. Dragoons should have the minimum of horse furniture for march including: watering bridle; nosebag, forage wallet with 2 days of horse feed.
