Weekly Devotional

January 17, 2011

God’s Peace be with you all.

Ephesians 4:11-16   11 The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,  12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,  13 until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.  14 We must no longer be children, tossed to and fro and blown about by every wind of doctrine, by people's trickery, by their craftiness in deceitful scheming.  15 But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,  16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body's growth in building itself up in love.

Just a quick reminder about your “homework” for this week:  Please prayerfully answer the following questions and get them back to me:

  1. How do you fit into the story of God’s work at Springs of Grace?

  2. How do you see other’s fitting in?

I hope that you can use Paul’s letter to the Ephesians as a guide this week.  We all have a story to tell, and together, we have a story about what God is doing in our congregation.  Keep in mind that as we move towards our 10 year anniversary is it very important to get these stories recorded now so that we have them for future generations.  Also, for those of you that have not read the history of Springs of Grace that Ron Crawley did, I encourage you to do so.  It is an excellent read:

In our prayers this week: Ann, Jane’s parents, Charles, Scott, and all those we mentioned in church yesterday that have various connections to our congregation.

God’s Peace,

Pastor Judson
