Weekly Devotional
March 8, 2010 God’s Peace be
with you all.
We have something
different this week. Our devotional is
taken from the 2010 version of the
Moravian
Daily Texts. Below you will find
the appointed texts for today, along with two hymn verses,
and a prayer for the day.
Isaiah
52:7
7 How beautiful upon
the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces
peace, who brings good news, who announces salvation, who
says to Zion, "Your God reigns."
Proclaim to ev’ry people, tongue, and nation
That
God, in whom they live and move, is love;
Tell
how he stooped to save his lost creation,
And
died on earth that we might live in love.
Publish glad tidings, tidings of peace,
Tidings of Jesus, redemption and release.
Luke
9:1-2
Then Jesus called
the twelve together and gave them power and authority over
all demons and to cure diseases, 2
and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to
heal.
Give of your own to bear the
message glorious;
Give of your wealth to speed them
on their way;
Pour out your soul for them in
prayer victorious,
Till God shall bring his kingdom’s
joyful day.
Publish glad tidings, tidings of peace,
Tidings of Jesus, redemption and release.
Gracious
Redeemer, reign in us today, that we might be freed from all
that oppresses us in this life as we turn our feet to the
way of the cross. Turn our hearts to the
needs of your people. Amen.
In our prayers
this week: Ann, Diane, Lisa, Robert,
Gail H., and Catherine
God’s Peace,
Pastor Judson
