Weekly Devotional

November 19, 2007

God’s peace to you all.

Psalm 100:1-5 NRS Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come into his presence with singing. 3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he that made us, and we are his;1 we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name. 5 For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

This week we celebrate the annual holiday of Thanksgiving. Rather than writing to you about this holiday, I want to do something a little different. I would like for you each to take some time this week to yourselves, and to really think about all the things that you are thankful for. I hope that Psalm 100 (above) can be a starting point for you. I personally give thanks for yesterday. It was a wonderful day in the life of Springs of Grace. For those of you that do not know, the official count for yesterday was 92. While that included lots of family and friends, it also included visitors, former members, and lots of our own members. It was a joyous day full of singing and praising the God that loves each and every single one of us. And for that, I give thanks.

Take some time this week for personal reflection. Take some time this week for prayer. Make that prayer a prayer of thanksgiving, for all the wonderful things you have in your lives.

In our prayers this week: Alma, Buddy, Ann, Lee, Fairy, Michael and Chris, and Linwood.

God's Peace,

 Pastor Judson
