ORGANIZATIONAL CHART OF THE 96th DIVISION

 

191st Infantry Brigade

381st Infantry: Was to be formed from the 3rd Pioneer Infantry in France.  This was never accomplished.

382nd Infantry: Was to be formed from the 4th Pioneer Infantry in France.  This was never accomplished.

362nd Machine Gun Battalion: Was to be organized in France.  This was never accomplished.


192nd Infantry Brigade

383rd Infantry: Organized at Camp Wadsworth in September of 1918.  Never sent overseas.  The regiment was demobilized at Camp Wadsworth in January of 1919.

384th Infantry: Organized at Camp Wadsworth in September of 1918.  Never sent overseas.  The regiment was demobilized at Camp Wadsworth in January of 1919.

363rd Machine Gun Battalion: Organized at Camp Wadsworth in November of 1918.  Never sent overseas.  The battalion was demobilized at Camp Wadsworth in January of 1919.


171st Field Artillery Brigade

64th Field Artillery: Organized at Camp Kearny, California, from the 302nd Cavalry in August of 1918.  The regiment was to join the 96th Division in France.  It was demobilized in January of 1919.

65th Field Artillery: Never organized.

66th Field Artillery: Never organized.

22nd Trench Mortar Battery: Organized at Camp Kearny, California, from the 308th Cavalry in September of 1918.  The regiment was to join the 96th Division in France.  It was demobilized in January of 1919.


Divisional Troops

361st Machine Gun Battalion: Never organized.

321st Engineers: Never organized.

621st Field Signal Battalion: Organized at Camp Wadsworth in October of 1918.  Never sent overseas.  The battalion was demobilized at Camp Wadsworth in January of 1919.

Headquarters Troop: Organized at Camp Wadsworth in November of 1918.  Never sent overseas.  The unit was demobilized at Camp Wadsworth in January of 1919.


Trains

321st Train Headquarters and Military Police: Never organized.

321st Ammunition Train: Organized at Camp Kearny, California, in September of 1918.  The regiment was to join the 96th Division in France.  It was demobilized in January of 1919.

321st Supply Train: Never organized.

321st Engineer Train: Never organized.

321st Sanitary Train: Organized at Camp Wadsworth in November of 1918.  The unit was composed of Ambulance and Field Hospital Companies 381-384.  Never sent overseas.  It was demobilized in January of 1919.
