the Soldiers Came to Town"
the Fall Concert of the
Spartanburg Community Band
and the
Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble

The
theme of the Fall Concert of the Spartanburg
Community Band and Spartanburg
Jazz Ensemble will be "When the Soldiers Came to Town," based on
the recent Spartanburg
County Historical Association
publication of the same name. The focus will be on Camp Croft and the
lasting impact this W.W.II US Army installation on the local community.

The concert will be held in the Twitchell Auditorium at Converse
College in Spartanburg. Please click

In addition to
music of and from the period, this multimedia presentation will include
veteran interviews, images of the camp, a memorabilia and military
equipment display, and uniformed reenactors. You will also have
an
opportunity to purchase your own copy of the book "When
