  • Comments: Guilford will be a different this year on several fronts. First off I'm trying to move the camp. We've outgrown our old swampy spot and I've talked with the powers that be about moving our camp up near the dog park. Plans are currently under way for this to happen as I write this with water being run to the new location. I will keep everyone abreast as this situation develops. The second change at Guilford will be the scenario. This year we will try and kick off the main battle with a New Garden Road scenario in which the cavalry will play a central role. And... It seems we are expecting guests down from PA! Bob Healy of the 4th, and friends, were so impressed with the stellar job everyone did up at Brandywine that he called up and asked if he could come south and play with us at Guilford to return the support! After starting the fight we'll drift back out of sight and change kits for the main Guilford battle scenario while the infantry slug it out until the final charge. So in short please plan on bringing all your spare gear to Guilford to help outfit those that are lacking.

  • Comments:  An invitation only event at Cedar Springs, site of the 1776 skirmish between the Spartan Regiment and Tory forces from Ninety-Six. This encounter (AKA the Battle of Cedar Springs) was preceded by the well known, over-night ride of Jane Thomas from 96 to warn her son, then commanding the regiment, of the approaching enemy. Withdrawing from their camp fires and concealed in the darkness, the patriot forces ambushed the Tories, resulting in victory
