Comments: A full schedule of living history activities is planned including musket and artillery firing demonstrations, military camp life, backcountry civilian skills demos, first-person scenarios, period music, 18th century entertainment, tours and much more.
A film crew from “Great Divide Pictures” will film throughout the weekend to gather footage of the event. Amenities will include a light supper on Friday evening for those setting up camp and a prepared breakfast on Saturday morning. The park’s friends group, Volunteers96, will help with the meals. Firewood, straw, water, restrooms and showers will be provided. A discount on bookstore merchandise will be given to those in period clothing. Entertainment on Saturday evening will be music and refreshments at the Black Swan Tavern.

The Union County Historical Society owns and operates the
Cross Keys House
in Cross Keys (SC) where CS President Jefferson Davis stopped
for lunch in April 1865 on his withdrawal southward. They are
planning another event including living historians, tours of the house,
etc. They just announced a date change to avoid multiple
conflicts but this also falls on the observance of Confederate
Memorial Day.
