This note came to me from my good friend and SC Park Ranger Brian
Robeson from Musgrove Mill Historic Site concerning an upcoming event
at the site of the Battle of The Blackstocks, a major Patriot (Sumter)
victory in Union County, SC. This is on the battle site itself!
"We
will be having a wreath laying ceremony, but it will be more than that.
It will include demonstrations, tours, etc. In short, bring your mounts
and expect to ride. We have already gotten a commitment from a group
that does Tarleton's Legion, so there will be some mounted British, as
well. If you talk to the guys from the 2nd South Carolina Continentals,
let them know we would like to have them come also. The event is slated
for November 19."
